Looking for Heard ancestors

I am trying to get information on families with the surname Heard which is sometime spelled Herd or Hurd. My grandfather was Will Heard. According to stories I've heard no one really knew exactly where Will came from, it is said he just showed up in Shepherd,TX one day. He later married my grandmother Lena Elizabeth Robinson. In the census records of 1920 he was living in San Jacinto County with his wife Lena and their 2/12 year old son Sylvester Heard who was my father. I have been unable to find any other information on him either before or after 1920. According to the information provided in the census Will was born 1873 in Missouri. His father is listed as having been born in Missouri and his mother in Australia. I have no idea what their names might have been or if he had siblings

I have reason to believe he may have died in San Jacinto County. This is not a lot to go on but maybe someone out there has some information on a family member that disappeared during the early 1900’s as my father was born in 1918. I would like to speak with anyone having any information or ideas that might help in my research and will be happy to share the information I have collected with you.

Looking for my ancestors

I am trying to get information on African American families with the “surnames” of Bogan ,Bogans or possibly Boggany. My great-grandmother's mother name was Jane Bogan. In the census of 1880 Jane is listed as being divorced and living with her daughter Minerva Bogan in Polk County, TX. Minerva was also divorced from her first husband Pleasant Walker who was my Great grand-father. Pleasant and Minerva (Bogan) Walker had five children. The children were Susie, Willie, Floyd ,Pleasant (Pleas) my grandfather and Dennis. All of the children are listed as Bogan in the 1880 census but they were the children of Pleas Walker and they are correctly identified as Walker in later census records. After Pleas and Minerva were divorced she had twins whose names were Bessie and Dessie Mayo. The father is listed as Jeffery Mayo. Minerva then married a man named King Roberts. In the census of 1900 she listed as the wife of King Roberts (Head of Household) there is a Jeffery Walker who is identified as Minerva’s son, Bessie and Dessie Mayo and Leo Calep who is identified as a grandson of the head of household. I am not sure where Jane Born was born or who her parents were. Her place of birth is Alabama in one census and Tennessee in another.

I would like to speak with anyone with information on this family, I will be happy to share the information I have gathered on the family thus far. I can be contacted at joy4288@hotmail.com
