Looking for information on George Carpenter and Elizabeth Ruby, M 28 June 1824 in Montgomery Ohio. Child of the union Rachel Carpenter B 28 June 1837

1860 census shows the correct family members and says that they both were born in VA or present day West VA, approx. 1809. I am unable to find anything for either, including any census records as to where they were from the time of their marriage, until the census of 1860. Rachel was at that time married to Elijah Coffelt 19 Dec 1856 in Putnam Co IN
There are many George Carpenters and Elizabeth Carpenters, many stayed in PA, some moved to Kentucky and MO. But I am sure his birth was in VA and then he moved westward to IN, OH and family settled in IA.

Philip Coffelt, born Philip Kauffelt on Sept 9, 1738 on board ship in Philadelphia Harbor. He was possibly a twin born to Johan Christop Kauffelt and Anna Sara Dillman Degan.

Moved to Tennessee as a young man and married Eleanor Ryan. I am trying to track down his service in the Revolutionary War. He did serve in the VA Militia under George Washington some time around 1756.

Coffelt/Kauffelt

Hi Teri,
I saw your name on another sight as someone researching the Coffelts. Is that correct?
Thanks, Joyce

Coffelt/Kauffelt

Hello, I know there are a number of Coffelt/Kauffelt family doing research on this old family. I have information back to Germany 1500's that I would be delighted to share. My query is to locate the correct Daniel Coffelt in my family line. My great-grandfather was Elijah Coffelt, son of Daniel Coffelt and Peggy Bivens. Elijah was born in Indiana, lived there until moving to Iowa where he lived out is life. His granddaughter Laura was my grandmother who lived to be 102. Some publication's show that Elijah's father came from Tennessee but my Grandmother never felt that was correct. She expressed that the family was proud of the fact that grandfather Elijah's father Daniel was the son of a revolutionary soldier. The connection to a soldier would be through Nicholas Kauffelt who had a son Daniel. I am having difficulty in showing that the Daniel of Elijah is the Daniel son of Nicholas. There appear to be so many Daniels all about. Help please.
