My wife's grandfather, Charles E. Bell, was believed to have been born in Cincinatti, OH, in May of 1863. He died in Wichita, KS, in June 1926. Nothing is known of his mother and on his death certificate his father was listed as 'Athenian' Bell, birthplace unknown. It is known that Charles E. spent some time in the area of NW Ohio around Paulding before moving southwest,marrying Alice Pearl Robison in 1904 in Springfield, MO, and later living in Oklahoma and Kansas. Nothing else has ever been found pertaining to his father, 'Athenian,' if that was his actual name. The death certificate data was provided by Charles E.'s eldest son and some feel that owing to his lack of education or perhaps a misunderstanding in giving the information, he may have meant that his father was a 'Finian' Bell. In any case,any leads on this family would be most appreciated since no one in the family knows anything of their great-grandfather.
