Snipes of Alabama

Looking for info on the Snipes that were in Bibb Co, AL before early 1900s.

Kesiah Jones KY 1819

I am looking for Kesiah Jones born in Kentucky in 1819. She married George Yates b. 1819 in Robertson Co., TN, his family migrated to MO c. 1820, married Kesiah in Arkansas in 1840, in 1850 they were in TX, then (I think) to KS. It is possible he was buried in St. Joseph, MO. I have a name and family of every other Yates wife in this line, but no one knows anything about this lady. There were some Joneses in southern KY (just above Robertson Co, TN) who helped settle that part of the country, but I can't make the connection.

early Attayate folk

I am looking for some way to find out who these people were. I mean where they came from. These people were in Berkshire in the 1300s, but, were they Normans, were they older than that? And how did they become Barons and Lords? I know they were apparently very devout Catholics. At least one of them was in Reading Jail as a recusant. Lyford Grange, where they lived a good part of the time, some say was the last nunnery in England. One of the Yate wives was said to have been with that group. George Yate b. 1640, was my ancestor who came to Maryland to become the Assistant Surveyor of Maryland. The Yates in my line eventually migrated to Virginia, then Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and onward.
