book resource

If you go to "Geneology Book Links" and search for this site, you can look through and read a vast amount of books for geneology info. Lots of SANDERS books. I found one on the descendants of Alsey SANDERS and Mary Caroline BONNER, just loaded with info. When you get to this site, click on the first letter of the surname you're looking for and you can scroll down the list. You can even search for names in the text. Very helpful site.

Book Source online-Mercer County, Illinois

The Book, "Past and Present of Mercer County, Illinois" can be read online by going to http://www.archive.org/stream/pastpresentofmercerco
It is well worth the read, both historically and for genealogy info. Authors name is Isaac Newton Bassett, and if you have ancestors from this region, around the 1800's, you may be able to access info from this book. excellent resource.

Brother Daniel McGinty

I think I may have found Michael's brother Daniel. In the 1880 Census, Cleveland, Ward 8, there is a Daniel MCGINTY, b. 1832 (same year as Michael's brother). His wife was named Mary, and they had 4 children:
1. Patrick b. abt. 1865
2. Ann b. abt. 1866
3. Michael b. abt. 1871
4. Mary b. abt. 1874

What struck me was the names of his children match Michael's parents, himself, and a sister. He could have named his children after his family members. Anyone connected?
