Looking for Matilda Caroline SIMS, of Young, NSW, Australia
My Matilda was the daughter of William and Caroline SIMS, born c1855, in ENGLAND. The family emigrated to NSW, Australia, and lived in Bankstown and Young. They would've been Australia prior to 1863, as their youngest son, Charles Robert was born on the 24th Nov 1863, in Young.
I have a record of a Matilda Caroline SIMS marrying John EDMONDS in Forbes, NSW, in 1878. But I don't know if this is my ancestor, as the witnesses on the marriage certificate were W.B. EDMONDS and Thomas Michael SIMS. I know that William and Caroline SIMS had four children viz. Matilda, George (c1857), Sarah (c1861) and Charles. So I'm wondering who Thomas William SIMS is, and is this bride my Matilda.
Anyone have info that might clear this up for me?
Looking for John EDMONDS of Forbes, NSW, Australia
This John EDMONDS was born c1858, and married Matilda Caroline SIMS, on the 19 Dec 1878, in Forbes NSW.
My ancestor is Matilda, but I am trying to confirm that she was married to John. The witnesses to the marriage were W.B. EDMONDS and Thomas Michael SIMS.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Searching for William WELLS
William WELLS is my g/g grandfather, and family folklore has it that he may have come from New Zealand. As I have been unsuccessful in finding any records of his birth in Oz or the UK, I'm thinking NZ might be the place. William at some time emigrated to NSW Australia and married Bridget KEYS, in 1875. Not much to go on, but it's worth a try.
Hoping someone out there may have a William to match mine,
Regards
Kay
