My Dad was George Robert Cannon, b.4/12/1912 d.6/5/1974 & was married to my Mom, Mary Kathryn "Kitty" Wallace-Cannon-Dearwent, b.2/18/1920 d.6/30/1992. They had 4 girls, Flora Alberta, MaryAnne, Kathy "Kat", & Georgetta. The oldest was born in 1939 & the youngest in 1955. My parents grew up in & around Albany & Dawson, Georgia. My 2 sisters were born in Albany but after my Dad worked on the 1rst Atom Bomb in Oak Ridge, TN, he went to Cleveland, OH. The jobs were more along with the pay. My younger sister & I were born there & lived there until I was 9+ years old. My Dad's health & another opportunity were the reasons for returning to Ga., leaving my older sisters in colleges in the north. My Dad's parents were both dead before I came along. I knew & loved his step mother who had raised him but, as a child, never thought to ask her about "family". My Dad had brothers & at least 1 sister but I can't be certain of their being "real" or step brothers, his sister had died very young. I knew an Uncle Ralph & an Uncle Emmit. I believe they were John Ralph Cannon & Clarence Emmit Cannon. Uncle Ralph was b.9/15/1910 d.2/1975 I think. I don't remember his wife but, I think he had one. No children. My Uncle Emmit was b.1920 d.1996. He was married to my mothers' sister (I think he was a half brother to Dad). They have 2 girls & 1 son along with grand children. My Aunt Agnes Wallace-Cannon is also dead. My Dads' parents were; George Marshall Cannon, Callie Alberta Dees- Cannon, Step mother- Minnie Webb-Cannon & before my grand mother Callie, I understand he may have been married to a relative of Minnie's named Emma Webb. From what I've gathered there were 6 children but I can only estimate by their births who their mom's are. More entries to come.
