I am searching for information re: Robert Dobbie, b 1822 in Cathcart, Renfrew, Scotland. died 10/10/1903 in Bothwell, Lanark, Scotldand. Married 1/16/1842 to Helen Rose, born 1826 Dalziel, Cambuslang Scotland, died 5/16/ 1894. daughter of John Rose and<
Helen Anderson. Some of their children were: Robert Dobbie, b 1847; David Dobbie, b 1850; d 1883; Elizabeth Dobbie, b 1853; Barbara Dobbie, b 1855; Alexander King Dobbie, b 1856, d 1949 (my great-grandfather); Lily Graham Dobbie, b 1858; Isabella Dobbie, b 1859; William Ferguson Dobbie, b 1862; d 1897; Mararet Rose Dobbie, b 1864; d 1926 and Georgina Rose Dobbie, b 1869; d 1891. Robert Dobbie (sr) 1/2 brother was William Hugh Dobbie, father of Sir William George Sheddon Dobbie (so you'd think his ancestry should be easy to find-but it isn't). Any information about any of these folks (don't need to know about Sir W G S Dobbie) will be greatly appreciated.
Searching for information on Augustus Hiliker (Heliker?), born May 13, 1820 but not sure where-maybe Holland?. Married March 27, 1844 in Eastchester, NY to Sarah Ann Valentine. Died July 22, 1870. Augustus originally married Phebe Jane Valentine 12/29,
1840 but she died (complications of childbirth)in 1842 so he married Phebe's sister, Sarah. Their children include Phebe Jane Hiliker (b: 1/31 1842; m: Johnson) - Rachel Ann Hiliker (b: 12/26 1844) - Susan Elizabeth Hiliker (b: 2/19 1846) - Mary Esther Hiliker (b: 3/15 1849) - Eliza S. Hiliker (b: 6/7 1851) - Sara Louisa Hiliker (b: 11/24 1853; m: Ichabod Smith 9/16 1873; d: 3/4 1937) - Elmira Hiliker (b: 9/2 1857) - Emaline Augusta Hiliker (b: 3/26 1859). Any information found about any of these folks will be greatly appreciated.

(b 1864; m Alex McKinley) - Lily Graham Dobbie (b 1858; m Archie Hamilton) - Robert Dobbie - William Dobbie - Georgina Rose Dobbie - Alexander King Dobbie (b 1856; m Catherine Elizabeth Ferguson). I believe one of Robert's 1/2 brothers was General William Dobbie. Any information on this family would be much appreciated. Thanks.
