Zacheus Horn/e and Nicholas Horn/e both moved to Itawamba Co, MS from TN in the mid-1830s. Zacheus died in 1867, and Nicholas died sometime between 1902 and 1907. There is nothing linking them, though Zacheus (b. 1790) was old enough to be the father of Nicholas (b. 1815). Though Zacheus' family is listed on the 1850 and 1860 census--and doesn't include Nicholas--he could have been from a first marriage. (There is also a rumor that he was illegitimate.)

Both men had children who went to Texas. Before 1860, Zacheus' daughter, Susan, who was married to Nathan Allen, moved to LaVaca, Morales, TX where their children intermarried with the Gandy family. Another daughter, Margaret, married Jeff Watson and moved to another part of Texas, probably after 1880. Nicholas' daughter, Mary, married George Davison and moved to Hill Co, TX about 1891 and then to Wharton Co, ElCampo, TX about 1893. Two of his 7 sons, Houston and Wilson, moved to Hill Co, TX in the 1890s sometime.

After 15 years of research, I'm hoping to link these two Horn/e families together or find proof they weren't related at all. If you have any knowledge of or interest in them, contact me.
