What happened with Jane? It appears that she was born in Ireland and had a sister, Fanny (Frances) for certain. Jane died aged 40, leaving behind at least 3 kids: Mary Ann, Elizabeth and Dennis. My interest in particular is with Dennis b1858. At the age of around 6 he was sent off to live at the Swinton Industrial School and his place was paid for by the Barton Poor Union. So was his sister Elizabeth's - they entered the school on the same day, approx 3 weeks after their mother Jane's death.

What happened to poor Jane to end up a) so poor and alone and b) who is the father(s) of her children? How can I find more info on this??

What did Dennis do for employment between leaving the school and turning up in the 1881 census as a schoolteacher?

Was James Marrin b1786 her father and Catharine b1796 her mother? This query is because Fanny was living with them when she was younger....
