Both were wives of my gggrandfather in Canada, McVicar in 1839 and McGahey in 1860. My source(rootsweb)says both marriages occured in LaChute area of Argenteuil.
There are two ways to learn how to swim: take lessons, observe others, practice kicking and stroking OR jump right in and find your own way. Your technique this way will never get you into the Olympics, but you will have fun. I am having a ball and looking for both sides of the family all at once, backwards and sideways. Logic says I should concentrate on only one branch at a time, but I am afraid I will lose interest if I hit the "brick wall" that so many write about. In 2 months I have found more ancestors than I ever thought I would using the "free" online sites. Am searching right now for POST, COGAN, GILL, SCHWAB, HICKEY, FRASER and PALLISER.
Have traced to g-grandparent with help of LDS Family Search data base. There are lots of "hoofs" and "hoffs" out there. Are you looking, too G-grandpa is Munson and g-grandma is Maria?
Will look at the BC info. Don't think will find "my" PALLISER ancestor there, but maybe a sibling. Any help from others who are on this adventure called genealogy is greatly appreciated. Hope I can help you later on with your searches. lindsidelass
Want to be in touch with this researcher seems we are related somehow)but on the website I found his posting was an old obsolete e-mail. Does anyone out there know of him or if he has an updated address? "Googled" him to no avail.
Found g-grandf in 1905NY Census and 1910 Fed. but not in 1920 Fed.. I know he died in 1951 so where could he have been in 1920? I have been using Family Search.org
My great grandfather was born in 1854+/-2 years. Family oral history says northern NJ, specifically Bergen/Passic/Hudson Counties. His name was Frank, spouse Ida, 3 children Frank, Mildred and Wm. all deceased. Short of going to Ancestory.com, how can I find him or has someone already?
