They are to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on 3rd March 2013 and we as a family are making a party of it on the 23rd March 2013 in Palmerston North New Zealand where they are living. Both are currently in good health and we are very pleased to be sharing this occasion with family and friends.

Eleanor Agnes PEARSON b 14/9/1869 Appleby, Westmoreland, England (father George PEARSON b abt 1838 d abt 1874 in England) married to Agnes ARMSTRONG b 16/9/1843 Longmarton, Westmoreland, England d 14/10/1910 Hiwinui, Manawatu, New Zealand after marrying George's younger brother on 11/11/1875 - Robert PEARSON b 14/10/1849 d 20/4/1920 Wanganui, New Zealand. They had three children before sailing to New Zealand arriving Wellington on 7/12/1879 on the "Arethusa". They had another five children in the Turakina Valley.

Eleanor was buried at Bunnythorpe cemetery with her husband Thomas John LIND near her mother and step father.

Eleanor had three brothers and two sisters - Thomas Winter PEARSON b 4/3/1864, George Henry PEARSON b 12/3/1866, Edith Annie PEARSON 18/11/1867 (married Arthur Minett HOCKLY 9/4/1889 in Marton, New Zealand), Mary Jane PEARSON b 21/8/1871 and Colin Winter PEARSON b 31/8/1873.

Can anybody assist with further information of her father George PEARSON - his father was Thomas PEARSON of Bongate, Westmorleand, England and mother Margaret EDGER of Tirril, Westmoreland, England.

The HART family (Richard b 22/7/1837 and Susan nee Luckham b 22/7/1838) emigrated to New Zealand originally from Devon departing Plymouth in 1879 on "Rakaia" arriving in Wellington on the 9/9/1879 and then travelled north to Foxton.

They sailed on a full-rigger, setting out into the Atlantic and the long journey to the South Pacific. A newspaper account recalls the vovage - "the equator was crossed on the 2nd July and Cape Farewell (New Zealand) on 7th September. The weather throughout was very fine and the winds only moderate. The passengers seemed to have enjoyed themselves very much on the vovage." There were 296 government immigrants on board, 75 for Hawke's Bay and the remainder for Wellington. On 11th September the Evening Post reported "the steamer Stormbird which left for Foxton this morning, took 26 immigrants, ex the "Ruakaia" and the "Tui" left for Wanganui at noon with 14. Tomorrow, 67 others will leave by the "Rotorua" for Napier.

Believe there is some excellent photographs out there of their wedding in Hampshire England on the 24/12/1864 along with some of the early family prints.

Mary Eliza DALLISON married Matthais Petersen MAI 2/1/1890 and we are interested in where they were married - was it Silverhope near Marton, Rangitikei, New Zealand or was it Feilding??

Mary had five sisters and only two brothers, one who died in Semaphore, South Australia on 18/10/1915 and I don't have any descendants from this line. The other brother Thomas Rought DALLISON had two sons, one died at the age of four and the other William Harold DALLISON had five daughters.

The only other known male member of this family is William DALLISON born or christened 21/3/1802 being the son of William DALLISON and Sarah ALSOPP. No other information has been found to date.

Thomas VERRY (b 14/1/1863 Wakefield NZ) d 1/7/1932 at Sanson aged 69 years was buried at Sandon Cemetery. His wife Amelia Mary (nee Knight) b 1870 d 26/8/1946 and buried with him. They had no child but were married at Sanson 21/9/1883.

Can any body help with clarifying Thomas' father's details - Charles VERRY b ? Sherbone, St John, England either 1818 or 1821 d 1/6/1864 after drowning at Wakefield.

I am very interested in helping this family as I have a copy of the guests seated at Alma's wedding breakfast in the Ohingaiti Hall (1939) which was very nicely decorated for the occasion. The photograph was given to me by Alma and we have the head count at 139 with 80% named. This was a hung task and something that should never be lost. It was enlarged to A3 sized paper to assist us and was one of my early attempts to be very accurate with details of photographs.
