looking for marriage of james KENNY and Margaret E?
I still have not been able to find out the surname of the lady who married James KENNY in Auckland and any more retails about her. It has been rumoured that she may have been Maori. I married a Maori myself in Masterton NZ in 1967. The family there think you may be able to help.
Looking for James KENNY of Auckland NZ
James KENNY was apparently a Shipping Master out of Auckland in the latter part of the 19th century. His son Austin KENNY was a butcher who came to Sydney NSW in about 1890 and married Mary CONNOLLY. Mary was the eldest child of Thomas CONNOLLY who had come to NSW as a policeman in the 1860's. Subsequently he became a farmer in the Orange district of NSW.
I need a lot more on the KENNY side from NZ.
Looking for family of Fr Humphrey GEANEY of NZ
Fr.Humphrey GEANEY was a relative of my mother Ellen Berenece DICKSON nee KENNY. He visited last in the 60's to our home in Bondi. He was a member of the MARIST Fathers. He would be about 112 years or more if he were alive. When I get some more details I will follow up contacting relatives GEANEY etc. in New Zealand
James KENNY of Auckland about 1870 had a child Austin Kenny born in...
James KENNY of Auckland about 1870 had a child Austin Kenny born in Auckland. Austin came to Australia about 1890 and married my grandmother Mary Connolly. He was a butcher in Paddington Sydney. They had 4 children Austin, Bede. Berenece and Edward. Stories over here were that James Kenny married a Maori Lady whose name was Margaret E? Even though we have attempted to resolve this happily in the affirmative ( I married a Maori Lady Donna Paku-- perhaps her father was actually Kepa Naera -- another thing to find out ) we are now prepared to join your group of researchers .
Another reason for asking that question about James and Margaret is that the Bede mentioned above became Bede Kenny V.C. who is being further researched.
Edward
