Rosebud Pine Forest

I am looking for anyone who recalls the Pine plantation at the back of Rosebud. It was behind Eastbourne rd and between Jetty and Boneo rds.
I know the family who owned it in the early days was Cairns but do not have any info after that.
Who owned the plantation and when were the pine trees planted?

Also looking for anyone who has memories of the pine forest, adventures, expeditions etc.

regards
Margaret

WILD's from Bradford and Leeds, Yorkshire

My Wild line originated in Leeds. My line moved to Bradford and the family spread out from there.
My great Grandfather, Thomas Wild married Elizabeth Overend and they came to Australia in 1870.

Simpson family in Deniliquin

My Simpson family arrived in Australia in 1841, well at least the first of them did. Soon after more and more brothers and sisters and their families followed.
The families settled around Deniliquin, Hay and Wilcannia. They were blacksmiths and as time went on, took on other lifestyles, hotel keepers, cordial makers etc.

The family originated in West Yorkshire, moving from Rylstone to Kildwick between 1800 and 1810 approximately.
John Simpson and his wife Elizabeth Whitaker had 15 children.
It was a large number of these children that came to Australia.
The newspapers of the Riverina recorded them in depth and gave an insight into their lives.
