Obviously the wives had families too but for now I'm just concentrating on the male side with its repeating names and all came from pretty much the same area, assuming Fife and Fifeshire are very close.

Can anyone help confirm births deaths marriages? Any Sibblings, occupations, photos, or other clues.
Thanks in advance.

HENDERSON arrival on the Gold Fields. 1855-1861

I have a John HENDERSON born in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1825. Married Mary Dogherty, born in Carvan near Dublin, Ireland. A number of children born in Scotland including Hugh, James, John, and then Neil in 1855, then William born in Nuggong Reef, Victorian Gold Fields on 6 October 1861. John died also in 1861 on 13 January.
So, they must have travelled to Australia within the years of 1855 and 1861.
I can't find immigration or ship passenger lists or
John's death place.
Also, 13 January to 6 October is 38 weeks and a very close to a full term birth.
Can anyone help?

WHITE Herbert Built own house in Rosebud

Built Own House
Five years ago Mr. Herbert White of Auburn-gve., Auburn, set to build a house. It is now finished. In these days, when houses are (or were until the war came so near our doors) run up in a matter of weeks. Five years seems a long time to take to build one, but the point is that Mr. White did it all by himself. The task is more creditable when it is considered that Mr. White is a boot operative by trade, and had had no previous experience of building. He dug sand from his land in Point Nepean-rd., Rosebud, where the house stands, and made cement blocks by hand - 5000 of them - one at a time. The house is built on modern lines and has four large windows in front. The kitchen has a range and a large porcelain combination sink, which were put in by Mr. White. There are, besides, a bathroom and washhouse.

Transcribed from a newspaper clipping kept in a family scrapbook. No date stated.
Family story was that Herb rode his push bike from Auburn to Rosebud every Friday and rode home again at the end of the weekend.
