john joseph and thomas were the twin sons of bernard mcguire and jane corcoran. the family was so poor that the parents could only keep one child so that kept thomas. john joseph was sent to live with an aunt in England. He only met his mother Jane when he was 16 years old. I believe that john, tom and older brother james settled in the brockton massachusetts in the early 1900's. John was married twice first to mary lillian ogrady simon and then to my grandmother clara mcvay. john joseph was a machine gunner during the Boer war. He died april 10 1937
