Looking for Thomas Mead born in Virginia (I believe) in the early 1700's

My mother was Vivian Meade born in 1916. Her father was James Madison Meade born in 1881 in Missouri, probably in Rolla. James father was John Christopher Mead married to Sarah Dykes in 1864 in Rolla. John was in the Civil War. I have documentation of all the previous.

John's father was William Minor Mead married to Berthania Branham. William Minor (Born 1801) was the son of William Mead and Sarah Garland.

William Mead's father was Thomas Mead. According to guardianship papers filed in Virginia in 1770, William and two of his brothers (Thornton and Minor) were put in the care of two guardians. Their father's name is given as Thomas...with varying birth dates from other sources. No mother was named.

I believe that is pretty much what we have.

Thanks for your website.

Looking for Branham from North Carolina

Berthania Branham was my great great grandmother. Her husband was William Minor Mead. She was supposed to have been born in North Carolina in 1805; married William Minor Mead in 1829 in Roane County, Tennessee. I have no idea who her parents or siblings are.

Berthania was William's second wife. They had 9 children as follows:
William Jackson Mead born February 15, 1830 in Tennessee; John Christopher Mead/Meade born 1831 in Monroe County, INdiana; Maryline Mead born 1832 in INdiana; Clementine Mead born 1834 in INdiana; Daniel Monroe Mead born 1837 in INdiana; Louisa Mead born 1839; Merilla Mead born May 02, 1842 in Missouri;Theresa Ellen Mead born March 23, 1844 in Missouri and last Lucrecia Mead born in 1846 in Missouri.

This family came to Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri from Indiana in the mid to late 1840's. They are in the 1850 Federal Census as living in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri.

My ancestor in this family is John Christopher Mead who married Sarah Dykes in Rolla, Missouri in 1864 while he was in the Union Army during the Civil War.

One of their children was my grandfather, James Madison Meade.
Thanks for any help you can give.
