They married in 1889 and had the following children:
* 1889 - Margaret Sophia Wackrow

Can anyone please help

TAUMARUNUI is a town in the King Country of the central North Island of New Zealand. The name Taumarunui is reported to be the dying words of the Maori chief Pehi Turoa - taumaru meaning screen and nui big, literally translated as Big Screen, being built to shelter him from the sun. There are also references to Taumarunui being known as large sheltered location for growing kumara.

- Came from England to Wanganui as a master in May 1914, and was appointed tutor of Hadfield House in succession to Mr Hodges. In the short space of two terms he established himself firmly in the life and affections of the school. He at once interested himself in the Cadet Corps and the workshop, was captain of No.6 Coy., and given a comission in the N.Z. Territorials. He planned and supervised the building of the cricket shed, which in its unpretentious usefulness stands as a symbol of his own character. In the class-room, he inspired as well as taught, out of it his kindliness and sincerity earned one of those whose presence enriches the community they serve, and it was with sense of vital loss that we heard that he would not return to us again. He accompanied the 4th Reinforcements, and spent only four days in Egypt before sailing for Gallipoli. He died from wounds received at Chunuk Bair on the morning of August 8th, his company commander, a distinguished old boy of the school, referring to him a "a very gallant soldier who had shown himself just what an officer ought to be.
Thankyou to Richard Bourne of the Wanganui Collegiate School Museum for this information.

RICHARD SOUTHEE 1804 Kent, England to 1873 Victoria, Australia - via St Petersburg

Dr Richard Southee was born in 1804 In Bekesbourne, Kent, England.
His parents were John Southee and Charlotte Brice.

The Doctor and his wife Martha Hatfield had two children:
Martha Amelia born 1831, and Richard Brice born 1838 and christened Richard Brice John Elistrateff SOUTHEE at the British Chaplaincy in St. Petersburg, Russia on 15th May 1846.

Dr Richard Southee is mentioned a few times on the net as born in 1799 - this is incorrect.
He arrived in Melbourne on the 25th December 1851.
Was in Castlemaine in 1854 and Forest Creek in 1857.

He died in Marjorca - 172km NW of Melbourne on 12th June 1873

I would like to know more of his parents, his siblings and why his son was christened in Russia - was he also born there?

Who was his wife Martha Hatfield, where did they marry and where were his children born?

Who was Mary Elizabeth QUILTY - born 1851 Adelaide, South Australia *UPDATE

Who was Mary Elizabeth QUILTY?? born in Adelaide, South Australia on 27th June 1851 - died in Welington, New Zealand on 25th Oct 1933.

She married John Mathew Goldfinch in Wellington New Zealand in June 1875.

John was born in Wellington 28th February 1852, the first of 15 children to George Lynch Darby Goldfinch and Mary Futter.

John and Mary had 7 children:

Alice Theresa Goldfinch b.1876 Wellington - d.1960 Lower Hutt
Arthur Lunch Goldfield b.1877 Wellington - d.1969 Lower Hutt
Olive Goldfinch b.1879 Wellington - d.1896 Island Bay
Percy John Goldfinch b.1881 Wellington d.1969 Epsom, Auckland
Eva Goldfinch b.1884 Wellington - d.1963 Wellington
Leslie (Bob) Goldfinch b.1882 Wellington - d.1882 Wellington
Nellie Goldfinch b.1886 Wellington - d.1886 Wellington

John Mathew Goldfinch died 1895 aged 42 and is buried in Bolton St Cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth Quilty died 1933 aged 82 and is buried with John

Quilty possibly originated in Ireland - Mary was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1851.
Do you know who her parents were?
When they emigrated to Australia?
Her siblings?
How she got to New Zealand?

*Found a passenger list of the JOSEPH ROWAN which left Liverool 21st March 1854, arriving in Port Adelaide, South Australia 16th June 1854.
Amongst the passengers was a Robert Quilty with wife Biddy, 3 year old Mary and infant daughter Anty.
This Mary's birth year matches 'our' Mary - is it her?

Looking for passenger list of the 'STEADFAST' to NSW, Australia 1849

I would like the passenger list for the 'STEADFAST' which sailed from Plymouth, England on 24th November 1848, arriving N.S.W. Australia on 26th March 1849.

Looking for George Lynch Darby Goldfield who was on board and possibly his brother Thomas Barber Goldfinch.

George then moved to New Zealand - would also like to know which ship he sailed in to NZ - I THINK it may have been the EMPEROR (of China)??
