A very pleasant evening was spent at their home in Kilbirnie, Wellington. The evening was spent in games, singing and dancing. A home-made supper was served in the breakfast-room, which was decorated with Iceland poppies and spring blooms.
The centre of attraction was a beautifully-decorated cake mad by Mr L. BUCKLEY
Toasts to the host and hostess were given by Mr Ralph Arthur SALTIEL (1892-1956) (who was best man), Mr G. COSTIGAN and Mr W. BURR and the host responded.

At the Magistrate's Court this afternoon a civil action brought by William Mihaka (a native) against Anthony Crawshaw was heard by Mr R. L. Stanford, S.M. Plaintiff claimed that on Sunday, the 22nd day of July, at Waitotara, the defendant wrongfully shot and killed two pigs, the propety of the plaintff, who claimed ?5 from the defendant as the value of the pigs and ?2 2s general damages, a total of ?7 2s 6d. (this is approx $1,160 in 2011). Mr Currie appeared for the plantiff, and Mr Watt for the defendant.
The case was proceeding as we went to press.
