Elizabeth Fewell 1849 Arkansas and the mystery man

Elizabeth Fewell b. 28 Feb. 1849 Arkansas, d. 12 Nov 1929 She was the mother of 3 girls,
Florence Ellen b. 03 Jun 1868 Coryell County, Texas (my ggrandmother)
Ollie Bell b. 28 May 1881 Lampasas, Lampasas County, Texas
Annice Oleana b. 02 Oct 1885 Copperas Cove,Coryell County, Texas

Our problem is that we have no idea who the father(s) was of these girls. Family gossip has it that Florence was born out of wedlock. At this time, having children before marriage was not accepted. I think that Elizabeth gave false information and/or her family covered it up.
Every census that I've found Eizabeth in, lists her parents birthplaces differently. Elizabeth's death cert. lists her parents as John Lail of Indiana and Malinda Wells of Missouri, and James Fewell was listed as her husband. In reality, her parents were, most likely, James Fewell of Ohio and Malinda Lail of Missouri.

We've considered DNA testing, but that is impossible because Elizabeth only had girls. So, we are hoping that SOMEONE has a document, picture, or even a theory about who this man (or these men) could have been. ANYTHING constructive anyone wants to add is MORE than welcome!
Attached is a picture of Elizabeth Fewell in New Mexico. I'm unsure of the date, but I would guess around early 1900.

Gone to New Mexico

The following is a note that was written by Roy Harman about my great-aunts, Annice Oleana Fewell Lacey and Ollie Belle Fewell Harman and their trek from Lampasas, Texas to New Mexico IN A covered wagon.
?Annice O. Lacey was born at Copperas Cove, Texas on October 28, 1885. Her maiden name was Annice Oleana Fewell. She attended school in Lampasas, Tx. There were two sisters-Ollie Belle Fewell and Florence. Both have passed on. About 1897 or 1898 the family left Lampasas in a covered wagon and driving about 50 head of cattle on their way to New Mexico. They spent one winter in Floydada, Tx where Annice and Ollie went to school. The following winter they were at Portales and went to school there in a tent but a frame building school house was built there that winter. What a far cry that is from the modern college now located there. There was one store there at that time. Leaving Portales they crossed the Pecos near Ft. Sumner and went on to an area near White Oakes known as Texas Park and acquired some land. The country was all open with no fences then so with a little land they could run the cattle there.
Annice married Erastus Lacey at Carrizozo about 1913. They had no children, but when Mr. Lacey?s brothers wife passed away leaving a two year old boy they were happy to have him. His name is Ray Lacey and he now lives in Montgomery Creek Calif and is retired.
Annice attended a ?Normal School" in White Oaks in 1902 and 1903 and was the first teacher in the Ancho NM school. She also taught at Rabenton, NM and a school near where they lived in Texas Park. For a period of time after her marriage they lived in White Oaks, La Luz, Valmont and Tularosa NM. Also in Cotton wood Calif. For a time they had a ranch and a farm down the valley and has made her home in Ft. Sumner ever since the late 1940?s.?

Ollie Bell Fewell Harman died in Carizozo, New Mexico 24 May 1935
Annice Oleana Fewell Lacey died in Ft. Sumner 22 Sep 1985 just short of her 100th birtday.
Roy Harman died in 2002.

I found an entry on the LDS website that listed an Isaac Johnson b. May 29, 1759 St. Peter's Parish, New Kent, Virginia;wife Sarah. They had 7 children. I have not found Isaac connected to Thomas and Elizabeth anywhere else and wondered if anyone could verify this information.
