I seek the ship list of passengers around 1864-1865 for William Ormandy from England and Mary Jane Duncan from Scotland who married Wiiliam Ormandy in NZ in 1872.
john mulvany was born in 1858 in County Antrim. We understand some records are gone but there must be something.
He emigrated we'd say from Ireland into New Zealand between 1858-1864 as he had a permit to work the goldfields from 1865 in Westland, West Coast. Only perhaps he came into Dunedin, Otago as goldfields there also.
I have spent many, many hours, years to find out.
John Mulvany was born in 1834~in County Antrim. Can't find the exact details there!
Around say 1858-1864 somehow he arrived into New Zealand to work the goldfields, either Otago first or Westland. We have knowledge of a work permit from 1865.
We've searched extensively list of passengers and fast becoming to accept many records were destroyed.
His bride to be was Elizabeth Burns from County Donegal, Ireland. I have her migration records from 1878.
John Mulvaney died in NZ on 2nd February,1902, aged 68yrs.
Feel free to email me direct @ email@example.com and release the stress.
Ngairedith, re Mulvaney Marriages we think there's a glowing error.
John Joseph Mulvaney who was always called Jack and there's a lot written about this man was the oldest son but not the eldest child, that was Mary Ellen Mulvaney. He never married, in fact was a loner so that story in the NI newspaper details is rather interesting to say the least.
Jack died on 26/5/1971 and he and his sister, Elizabeth Catherine Kidd are buried next to each other in the Hokitika Cemetery. Their Plot and block references are 1678 in block 90 and Plot 1680 in block 90 respectively.
I'm trying to find the DOB, MARRIAGE and deceased dates of the following. I'll outline what I have.
In A DATE IN 1919 Matthew or Mathew or was it Thomas known as Matt Nolan married Annie Catherine Mulvaney DOB 2/3/1924.
He had just returned from World War one.
He remarried when Annie died and the burial is very likely in South Westland of New Zealand.
CAN ANYONE ASSIST WITH ANYTHING ABOUT THE ORMANDY CLAN SOME OF WHOM MOVED TO NEW ZEALAND.
THE MAIN INTEREST WAS A William James Ormandy from ChCh who was married to Margaret Angelia, perhaps Amelia Hickey.
William known as Bill DOB-27/11/1874 and died in ChCh on 14/6/1963.

SHE WAS BORN AROUND 1879 AND DECEASED ON 1/9/1936.
