My Great-grandmother was Rebecca Alice Shinn. She was born 18 June 1865 in Warren, West Virginia to Joshua Nelson Shinn (1838 - 1909)and Hepzibah Harriet Harbert (1838 - 1928). She died on 17 Dec 1954 in Salina, Kansas.

She was married to John Richard Smith (1859 - 1935?)on 30 Sept 1880 in Shinnston, WV.

I am trying to verify that Rebecca Alice is, indeed, the daughter of Joshua and Hepzibah. I am also interested in finding out any information on John Richard Smith. I have no photograph, nor even a death record. John Richard was born in Preston, England in 1859 and died sometime between 1930 and 1940 in Salina, Kansas and that is all the information I have.

I have attached the only photograph I have of Rebecca Alice Shinn Smith with her son (my grandfather, Claude James Smith)
