I'm looking for my gggg John McClain. I know that he immigrated from Ireland (sorry don't know where) to Philadelphia in the early 1800's. He was born in 1804. His wifes name was Jane, born in 1805, and he had a son, Robert in 1840, whose wifes name was Fietta. The family eventually ended up in Shamokin, Pennsylvania until the early 1900's when they moved to Baltimore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing that the spelling of McClain has probably changed over the years, and have been told we originally immigrated from Scotland into Cavan County, Ireland. Depending on what census you look at, he was born in either Ireland or Scotland.
