I see that info is required for passenger lists into Wellington New Zealand.My grandparents are Patrick & Mary Dooney. While searching I stumbled onto following link with report on arrival of Barque Beemah from London.
The following passengers were listed. 1879 Voyage.
Saloon:John Ormond,Mrs.Ormond $J.B.Richardson.
Second Cabin:Arthur Woodman,Ada Cleghorn,R.Pringle,Charles & Thomas Brown.
Steerage:Stephen Hobbs,George Frame,Thomas,Sarah,Mary,Charles,Reginald,Lennard Beadnell,Richard Green,John Burns,Thomas Forrest,James Hamilton,A.G.Tromer,Patrick and Mary Dooney,Robert Allen,James Davies,Mrs Amy Fuller,Thomas,John and Amy Fuller,William,Elizabeth,Herbert,George and Bessie Gelling.
Their families originated from outer hebrides.Ewens family were Malcolm & Mary MacKinnon (nee Morrison). Born in and around Portree and Harris.Ewen born 1884ish in Tarbert Harris. Christina Isabella MacKinnon (nee Macdonald)was born around 1888 in Stornoway Lewis.
Her parents were John & Dolina Macdonald. Believe John was a marine engineer.
Ewen & Christina were married in Glasgow 1919. Soon afterwards they
travelled to Wellington New Zealand. Went on to have 3 children-George,Dolina and Malcolm. Would appreciate hearing from anyone with information .
My great gran was Mary Morrison born around 1851,in Harris Hebrides.
She married Malcolm MacKinnon. Her parents were Kennth & Anne Morrison.All born in Harris.She had siblings-Effy,Finlay,Murdo & Anne.
An aunt,Catherine and Margaret were also in their household on census night 07/04/1861. Would love to hear from anyone with info.
