MacDonalds and MacIsaacs of Rattling Brook, Little River, Heatherton, Nfld

Searching for links to clann sheumais MacDonalds for my ancestor James MacDonald who married Mary MacIsaac(d/o Murdoch, of Strathlorne, NS). We are descended from James of Baillie and our line is Jacobite. We are looking to restore our line by finding out which of James of Baillie's sons is father to our James. We know that clann sheumais is correct and we know that we have ties to Little Judique, Broadcove and Strathlorne. We know how the line descended once they moved to Nfld but we do not know who James' father was although we believe he might have been Alexander but we have nothing more on James to show anything about his birth, other than family lore which says he was born on the way over from the Isle of Skye.

Also we are trying to find out more about the MacIsaacs who married the children of James and Mary. Donald Big Dan married Mary MacIsaac, who we believe was born in Port Hood and may be the only daughter of Angus Og MacIsaac. Sarah Sally MacDonald married Daniel/Donald MacIsaac, supposedly a first cousin of her sister in law Mary(w/o Donald). Alexander Sandy MacDonald married Katherine Kate MacIsaac, possibly a sister to Daniel/Donald who married Sarah MacDonald.

So far these MacIsaacs do not fit into anything I have found on the MacIsaacs of Moidart. I believe they came from Canna but anything is possible. I believe the answers are in Port Hood or Inverness County but so far we have had no luck.

My grandmother will soon be 90. Can anyone help me fill out the family tree and restore what is missing of our heritage?

Any help would be appreciated.
