I have been researching my grandfather, Samuel Bird who died in 1962 and his family in the UK without any success. I have traced a son of his, my father's half brother who emigrated to Australia possibly in the 1960's. I do know for certain that Edwin Bird was naturalised in South Australia on 23 April 1975 and this is all I know about him, apart from his date of birth which was 5 June 1935 and he was born in Manchester UK.

I never knew my grandfather and have not even seen a photograph of him. Edwin had or has a number of brothers and sisters in the UK, some of which have died and others I have been unable to trace (I suspect they may have emigrated too). There was a sister called Muriel Bird (DOB 27/05/1929) who may have married a Joseph Kelly who has also died, but Muriel was alive in 2011 and living in Rochdale England.

Could anyone help or advise me how I go about tracing Edwin in Australia or even any of his possible relatives?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
