These St. Louis children are decendents of William Ryan b. 1810 and Ellen Shelly b. 1835, of Ireland, married there in 1849. Jerimiah b. 1849, Michael b. 1852, William b. 1854, Daniel b.1858, Mary b. 1857, Josephine 1864, Catherine b.?, and Edward b.? had Census, obits, etc.

My line: Michael I/J Ryan married Ella Gorman b.1851 had grandfather, William b.1879, Helen b.1881, Richard b.1883, Gorman b.1885, Charles b.1887, George b.1890 & Russel b.1892 in St. Louis & Webster Groves.

William A Ryan married Tully M Manget b. 1882, Ferguson, Mo, 1906. My mother, Dorothy J Ryan married O.E./Gene Hickman in Tulsa, Ok, 1940.

Most have photos, marriages, dates/names, address, and obits include great, great aunts & uncles, but few biographic-details remain. Inter-related family date from the American Revolution, like the Cloptons, or Hickmans, but only the Manget, Morin and DuBouchet knew European births, like Verdun, or Lyons, France whereas the Thoroghmans, Lewis, Stricklands or Atkinsons decendents are known from Newnan, Marietta, or Atlanta, Georgia, like Hickmans who migrated there from North and South Carolina before the Civil War.

Looking for other descendants of William Ryan born in Ireland arrived in St Louis Mo around the early 1840's. He married Ellen Shelly in 1849 in St.Louis. He died in Webster Groves, Mo in 1896 at the age of 86. He was the father of eight children: Jerimiah J Ryan, born 1849, Michael J Ryan, (my great, great grandfather) born 1852, William F. Ryan born 1854, Daniel Ryan born in 1858, Mary T. Ryan born in 1857, Josephine M. Ryan born in 1864, Catherine Ellen Ryan born in 1866, Daniel Ryan born in 1869. Am interesting in finding out if Jerimiah, William F., Daniel, and Edward had children. Do not have any information on them. Daniel and William F. are buried in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.

My Great Grandfather Michael J. Ryan married Ella Gorman, daughter of well known St. Louisan Captain Patrick Gorman who was the nephew of founders of St Louis, Edward and Julius Walsh.

I have information that Jerimiah J. Ryan was married to a Mary E. Kern.
