We are researching my wife's family tree, the Priest family from North Curry. One person, John Priest was born in 1821 and we have established he joined the Somerset Light infantry as a Baker/confectioner, with the last posting shown as Winchester Barracks in about 1851 and was discharged in 1860. We can find no other trace of him except that on discharge he deferred his pension. Are there an family members who can assist with information
My wife is Priscilla Matthews nee Priest whose relatives originate from North Curry in Somerset. We know that in 1887 the following left for New Jersey:
Mary Priest, nee Blackwell, with Phillis, Samuel, William Henry, James and Alfred. From records in Somerset it appears they left the UK on different dates, we assumed from Liverpool. Mary Ann Priest is believed to have lived with her sister Agnes Hanson for a while?
Priscilla did meet some members of the family when she visitrd New Jersey in 1975. We are having difficulty tracing any current family members of the above named. Any help would be appreciated.

I am researching my family and one part of it is the Lane family from Rissington, Gloucester, England.
Emily Muriel Lane married Ernest John ( Hans ) Meyer in October 1910 at Newark New Jersey. He died May 1944 at Mornington, Victoria, Australia. From research it appears there was a son born November 1913 at San Fransisco USA and he married a Joan Martin at Melbourne, Australia in April 1938. I cannot find any trace of when they went to or died in Australia or if there are any recent members of the family out there
