Foss' from Maine

I have a friend that has come across a family Bible with several names and dates. The dates were back from the 1800's and she is trying to find the correct home for this family Bible. It does mention the state of Maine with some of these dates. This family Bible also had a picture in it and it was probably taken in the 1970's put not sure of who it is. Can anyone help us find this Foss family Bible a home?

Looking for Foss in Michigan

My great grandfather is William J Foss and his father is Christian or Christopher Foss they came from Maglinburg or Mecklinburg Germany and naturalized in or around 1869. The family story is the once in America Christian and his wife separated and Christian took William and the wife took another child and went south from New York.

My research stops here because I do not know his wife's name or any other children's name. I need help to find out the names or other information about them.

Christian was born in Germany in July 4, 1823 and William was born in Germany Sept 24, 1852 and when they came to American they changed their last name of Voss to the American spelling of Foss.

Thanks to anyone that can help..

update....Of the 1900 Census William J Foss naturalized(NA) in 1969, was in country for 31 years but his father, Christian Foss also came the same year but was not naturalized(AL). Census of 1880 and 1900 states the Christian Foss was widowed--his wife I do not know her name. So I do not know if the family story is all corrected. Christian Foss died on 12/07/1900 in Eaton County, Michigan but his death certificate states that is parents are unknown.
