My wife's grandfather was adopted around 1900-1910 by a farming family near Clinton, MO. His name was Henry HOARD (later Kinyon). 1900 census lists him as servant in the KINYON household. The 1910 census lists him as Henry Kinyon. Can't find any record of the HOARDs. Anyone have HOARDs in western Missouri in your family tree? This is a frustrating dead-end on one branch of the family. Thanks.
Old family story has a Gardner serving the the Civil War with a unit from Iowa. He never returned and was presumed dead. Some years later, he reappears at a reunion of his unit.Claims he went west, participated in the Oklahome land rush and staked a claim on land that later became downtown Tulsa or Okahoma City. Married an native American woman and lived in teepee. This is a neat story....if true. Anybody have Oklahoma GARDNERS in your family tree that might matchup with any of this?
Looking for birth records or ancesters of my Great-Great Grandfather Truman Gardner, born 1798 or 1803 in NY. Married Sallie White about 1832. Also lived in PA and OH before dying in Logan County, IL.
Truman and Sallie had 7 children: William H., John, Giles, DeWitt, J.M., Julie? and Elisha. Any info would be appreciated. Contact me at: [email protected]
