Bivins or Nunn in USA

People call me Barb. I am researching my roots. Trying to find people who might have known my grandmothers. Both of them were so beautiful. But, I never got to see either of them except in their pictures. I became a grandmother 3 years ago and after that I started to wonder what life would have been like if I had known them when I was a child. That's about it for now. My best thoughts are with anyone who reads this journal.

Hubert J Bivins Family Roots

My name is Barbara Joyce Bivins Nunn. I had a wonderful father. His name was Hubert Jefferson Bivins. People called him Bert. He was married to Mary Emma LeSieur. Dad died in 1973 and Mom in 2005. I have a brother , James Lee Bivins and a sister, Dianne Marie Bivins Gray. All of our lives we have had a family tree on my mother's family. But nothing about my dad's. My grandfather was Joseph Lee Bivins. He went by Lee Bivins. He died in 1950. My parents were from Southeast Missouri and lived there until after WW II when they moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Grandfather Bivins moved here too. He was married to my grandmother, Lula Darnall but she passed away sometime around 1930 or shortly before. My grandfather and his
family are the main people I would like to learn about because he was married 3 times and all of his wives died. Lula was his 3rd wife and I never got to meet her. I am just learning about genealogical research and hope to find a few things. My mother has a family tree. Her LeSieur roots go back to Three Rivers, Canada to Joseph & Francis LeSieur who founded the town of New Madrid, MO. My father told me the Bivins had some family in
Kentucky. It would be nice to know his side of the family.
