Stones from Ohio & Indiana search...(perhaps originally from PA, & NC??)

Solomon Stone, my g-g-grandfather was born in Ca. 1827 in Butler Cty, OH. My family has been researching his parentage & lineage for amost 20 years. Who his parents & siblings were is our stumbling block. We have documentation for his life in 1849 and after. He was married in 1849 to Eliza Willis in Ft Wayne, IN.
I have a copy of their marriage Cert. No notation of parents on it. The 1850 Wayne Cty., census shows Solomon & Eliza are living with Sarah 15 years old, who was probably his sister. Next door and in close proximity are Andrew (b. ca. 1808 in NC,) Sarah, Abraham, Alfred, Isaac and Elizabeth Stone....Not sure if these are his siblings or cousins... The 1860 Tipton Cty. IN census show Solomon as a farmer & Eliza living with their children:
Lorinda, Alice, Malvina, Morton (my g-grandfather,) and William.
Solomon enlisted in 1861 in the Union IN. Army Volunteers, Co.K, 47th Regiment. He was assigned to Gen. Wood's bigade of Buell's armny. Then he was assgined to Gen. Popes army, where he saw battle at New Madrid, MO.
then at Riddles Point, MS, Ft. Pemberton, MS.& Port Gibson, Fourteen Mile Creek & Ten Mile Island, MS.
Solomon was killed by gun shot May 16, 1863 at Champions Hill, MS battle near Vicksburg. This battle was crucial for the Battle at Vicksburg. Solomon's body was not sent back home, so it is believed he was buried with thousands of other men, both Union & Confederate in unmarked graves in the National Cemetery at Vicksburg.

NOTE: I have some information regarding the recruiment for the IN. Volunteers, Co. K. 47 Regiment and the recruiment for other companies in & near Tipton, IN. and the battles they fought, if that would be of interest to other FTC's.
