Hackett and Swallow Family
Hi my name is Alfred (Stan) Hackett my Family emmigrated to Australia in 1951 when I was 9years old.I can remember my grand mother only as a very old and bed ridden,My grand father I can remeber making rugs from material he would cut into strips, and then with a hooked needle stitch tem into a pattern on hessian. His name was Alfred Swallow and lived at 15 Eccelsburn road, very near to East End Park Leeds. He was a retired Engine Driver for the North East Railways,as were 2 of his brothers William,Ernest and possible George, another brither Walter was a goods guard. As far as i know they were from around New Wortley, Thorpe, and Thirsk, untill recently and through this site,I was unaware that I had Great Aunts and Uncles, and it would be great to hear from any Swallows that are Related to my Family.
