My father was born in 1940 to Elmer J. PIATT and Sylvia Faye PIATT(WATKINS). In Glenwood Missouri.
Elmer John PIATT was born in 1894 to Chas. E. PIATT and Armiinta S in Moulton Iowa.
Chas. E. PYATT was born on September 24, 1869 to William James (names may be switched) and Sarah A Varney/ possibley Alice in Wells Iowa.
William James PIATT was born in 1845 in Indiana. He married Sarah/Alice in Mahaska Iowa in 1864.

This is all that I have been able to trace down.

I found a James C. PYATT born 1830 in Indiana. Death Apt. 1880. Parents PYATT[unknown]. He is buried in the Highland cemetary in Eddyville Iowa.

I am searching for James PYATT and Elizabeth information. I believe they may be my great,great,great grandparents. James was born around 1793=1811. He had a wife or two. One of them were Elizabeth. They resided in Eddyville Iowa. John was born in West Virginia. Johns children are, Mary Jane Pyatt, John Pyatt, James William Pyatt/PIATT. I have enough material to believe it was William who changed our last name.
