I was told by a Tarnagulla local many years ago about a negro named Ruby who found over 80 lbs weight of gold in the Tanagulla area in the early 1850s. Funny thing about it is Ruby was hanged for murder not long after he found the gold.

Hill, 8 Daisy Street, Essendon, Mary, Relict of the late James Morgan late of Chiltern, beloved mother of Mrs. Runge, Annie and James Sinclair, Lumley Morgan, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Wilson, Mary, Lily and Alexander Morgan, aged 72 years.

FUNERAL.
MORGAN. The friends of the late Mrs. MORGAN are respectfully invited to follow her remains to the place of internment the Williamstown Cemetery.

The funeral is appointed to move from the residence of her son-in-law Mr. R. G. Hill, 8 Daisy Street, Essendon, THIS DAY (Monday December 7) at 1.30 punctually.
