ANCESTRY.COM FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP
FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP ON THE NET
For all of you who have wondered about whether a ?Free Trial Membership? at some of these family history web sites is just that, FREE? Well I recently tried Ancestry.com with their free trial for 14 days. There are two methods in which to cancel your membership, but only one in which you can join. You must use a credit card to access the trial. A trial membership will only give you access to the area in which you are registering, that is to say the ?England and Ireland Collection? or the ?Historical Newspapers?, or the ?American Collection? etc. However, I believe that you can FREE Trial all of these areas individually. So, you could register for 14 days with England and Ireland, and then another 14 days with the American Collection etc. However, the catch (and there always seems to be one) is that if you choose to cancel your membership by email, it can take up to 10 days for this to be registered. So there is the chance that you will be charged the full membership fee for that one area (US$99.00 per annum - about AUS$140.00), they will however refund this once they receive your cancellation. The risk here being that the exchange rate may have changed and you would still incur some fee. I recommend that you telephone to cancel your membership if that is what you decide to do. It maybe an international call, but at the cost of a couple of dollars it is worth the piece of mind. So I recommend you give it a try, there is plenty of info available on their site.
CHAPPLE & PARR - ENGLAND
I am researching Thomas Chapple born in 1849 in Farnham Green, Essex, England. His father was also Thomas Chapple.
Thomas married Sussanah Alice Parr, who was born in 1840 in Gedney, Licolnshire, England. Sussanah was the middle daughter of Richard and Ann Parr.
Thomas and Sussanah were not married until after their first two childrenwere born, and so these children were given a double name. Their children were and John Neel Parr-Chapple born in 1862, Alice Parr-Chapple born in 1866 and Charles Henry Chapple born in 1871.
Alice went on to marry Walter Allen Reams and had three children.
I would like to find out more about these Parr and Chapple families, so please get in touch with me.

CHRISP - NORTHUMBERLAND ENGLAND
The Chrisp line I have been researching begins with Adam Chrisp who was Christened 8 December 1771 Alnwick, Northumberland. His father was James, but this is all I know I about him.
Adam Married Sarah Morrow (Murray) who was born in 1773, Longframlington, Northumberland. They had three sons: John (b: 1798), James (b:1800) and Adam (b:1808). The youngest son Adam is my direct line, but I am keen to sort out the other brothers lines too. I know a little about John and his desendants, but virtually nothing about James.
COGGINS/COGGINGS - BRISTOL, ENGLAND
COGGINS ? I know very little about this Coggins family. The name appears to be spelt sometimes as Coggings. Mary Jane Coggins was born in 1861 in London, and she married William James Webb, and they had three children; Michael, Florence & Eliza.
Mary?s father was Richard Coggins, he was born in Bristol in England in 1823.
CORBETT - FROM GLOUCESTERSHIRE, ENGLAND
CORBETT - Corbett has been incorrectly listed sometimes as Corlett. This Corbett family came from Gloucestershire, England. George Corbett was born in Hartpury, Gloucestershire in 1838, he married Sarah Houldey who was born in 1833 in Gloucester.
They had five children: Florence M. Corbett (b: 1864), Agnes Corbett (b: 1866), Gertrude Corbett (b: 1867), Beatrice M. Corbett (b: 1869), Winifred Corbett (b: 1871). What little information I have about these children is mainly about Agnes, she was a Nurse, and in 1891 was in charge of the Comscote Road, Mission Houses in St Nicholas, Warwickshire.
I would like to find out more about this family.
CREBBIN - ISLE OF MAN & AUSTRALIA
CREBBIN - Variations to the spelling of Crebbin include: Crebbin, Crebben, Cribbin, Cribben, Crabbin, Crabben, Crabbing, Cubbin.
No Crebbin?s or variations of have been found in NSW until 1903. Nor in Tasmania between 1803-1899. There has been a book written about Crebbin?s coming to Australia and it listed the first Crebbin in Australia as having come on the first fleet as an Officer.
The Crebbin line I am researching begins with Thomas Crebbin who married Elizabeth Naomi White in 1874, in Victoria, Australia. However, Thomas came from the Isle of Man, UK.
Thomas and Elizabeth had 8 children and lived mostly in the Richmond area of Melbourne, Victoria. Their children were: Richard Crebbin (1874 ? 1940), Emily Elizabeth Crebbin (b: 1876), Ada Annie Crebbin (b: 1878), Elizabeth Jane Crebbin (1880 ? 1934), Thomas George Crebbin (b: 1882), Henry Crebbin (b: 1886), Allan Crebbin (1888 ? 1889), Elsie Crebbin (b: 1889).
I would like to find out who Thomas? parents were and what happened to all of his children.
DAVIS - FROM IRELAND TO ENGALND BIRMINGHAM
DAVIS ? The Davis line I have been following begins as this point with Joseph Davis who was born in Ireland in 1815, his occupation was a ?spiker? as listed on the British 1851 census, and his wife was Jemmima; she was born in 1820 in Shorpshire, England.
Between them they had four children: Ann Davis (b: 1842), Joseph Davis (b: 1844 ), Allis [Alice] Davis (b: 1847) & Thomas Davis (b: 1849). Joseph Junior is my ancestor, and he married Hariett Henn. Of the other three children I know very little. I would like to find out what happened to Joseph siblings, and also find out who Joseph senior?s parents were.
FLOOD - HAMPSHIRE, ENGLAND
FLOOD ? This Flood family came from Hampshire in England. The line I am researching begins with George who was born in 1815, and his son George H. Flood, who was born in 1845 in Southampton.
George H. Flood married Matilda who was born in 1848 in Southampton also. They had four children that I know of: George Henry Flood (b: 1870), William Bishop Flood (b: 1872), Thomas Scott Flood (b: 1876) & Frederick J. Flood (b: 1878).
I know that Frederick J. Flood married Mary Georgina Macey. But I do not know what happened to the rest of the children, and I would like to. I would also like to find out a little more about George and his father.
GIBBONS - MONTREAL, CANADA TO SCOTLAND TO SURREY, ENGLAND
GIBBONS ? This Gibbons line originated in Canada so far. John Gibbons was born in 1867 in Canada, but I don?t know where exactly. His mother was named Ellen, and she was born in 1821 in Montreal, West Canada. The earliest record I have of him in England in on the 1861 census, where he is married to Mary, who was born in Devon, Plymouth, England in 1866. John is listed as being a Solicitor?s clerk, and later as a Police Sergeant. They family were living in Surrey mostly, but in 1901 were in Wandsworth.
John & Mary had four children: James Edgar Knox Gibbons (b: 1871), Mary Caroline Gibbons (b: 1873), Julian/John Gibbons (b: 1878 ) & Helen (Ellen) Gibbons (b: 1880).
James married Rose Minnie Hunt, but I don?t know about the other children. I would like to find out what happened to James? siblings, and where John came from in Canada.
I found a brother of John's, Thomas Gibbons who was born in 1851 in Scotland. But I have not been able to locate their father, or anything else about this family.
Can you help me?
