Droege

My father, William Phillip Droege b. 16 November 1917, lived at 4320 Elbertson Street, Queens, NY in 1940. He was married at that time, as so marked on the census form, but living with his parents (William and Adaline), grandfather (Philip Eich), and sister (Mildred Droege). No wife in residence. The marriage was annulled in 1940 but not before the female (I do not know her name) got pregnant with a male child. I am sure there is a record of either the marriage or the annullment but I don't know where to begin to find that record. That record would at least give me the females name and I would be able to search from there. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.
