Looking for Hamlin of Devon in England
At the 1911 Census Amanda Hamlin was 42 yrs of age and described as a Boarding House Keeper in the Parish of Wolborough, County of Devon. The address was 24 Prospect Terrace, Newton Abbot, Devon.
Amanda had 4 daughters, Gertrude b abt 1888; Dora B b abt 1893; Hilda May b abt 1894 and Nena Amanda b abt 1896; all four sistes were born in Torquay in the County of Devon.
Nena or Nina(not sure of correct spelling) was my grandmother, on my mothers side. She married Stanley Keats in June 1919 and they emigrated to NZ from Plymouth aboard the "Tainui" on the 16th Feb 1920.With them was their first born child, Marjorie Joan Keats, my mother, who had her first birthday during the voyage.
I'm interested in the correct spelling of Nena/Nina and any information about Amanda Hamlin and her husband.
Looking for William Henry Bevan who married Ellen Coulter and lived in Hawera, New Zealand.
I understand the surname was changed to Beaven. One of their sons is Samuel Joseph Beaven. Another William Henry George is shown in WW1 records as Beaven/Bevan.
