Looking for info on Vander Sluis / Vander Slice family

My grandfather changed his name from Vander Sluis / VanderSluis
to Vander Slice which makes this history more interesting. Any information on the VanderSluis family in America would be helpful

Chatfield

Thank you all for the wonderful information on Robert/ Emmett Chatfield. Albert Leonard Chatfield who died in Cleveland in 1914 is still a mystery to us.

Chatfield info

Thank you SO much edmondsallan for your help. Most of the info I have seen before but you expanded on a few things. Robert Emmet Chatfield's date and place of death is still a mystery. I need to check further in my information about the birthdates of his children. In the one letter we have of his he tells that typhoid has come to his house and his three children got it. He says that Frank and Leston were recovering but his daughter Ada would remain deaf and dumb as a result. I know he had a daughter Laura but I thought she came along later with William/Billie. I do have the information on which regiment, etc. he was with if you would like that information. Thank you again.

Susannah Coy Chatfield of Mayflower descent.

I have found how Susannah Coy, wife of William C. Chatfield was in a direct maternal line from the Mayflower Pilgrims. She, at the age of 17 traveled on horseback, riding side saddle, from Windham Ct to Cayuga Co N.Y. It was a trip of 400 miles.

Chatfield Family

We have been researching since last fall and are hooked!! I have information on our Chatfield line. It goes...George, Josiah, David, William C. (b. 1774), (who married Susannah Coy 7th generation from Elder Brewster of Mayflower fame), John Milton, Albert, Lucy, Nina, Doris, Douglas. I have letters written from the war from a Robert Emmett (later changed to just Emmett or Emmitt) who served in the Civil War. He lived in Ohio but joined the army in New York. I would love to find his descendants to share copies of these letters with and I would love to find people who can fill in a couple of blanks that I have. If interested please respond.
