Joseph HOOD is recorded as a Ship's Cook and was born in Dunedin. He later moved to Auckland, NZ where he married a Bessie BALL (nee HART) on 30/11/1937. Joseph was also a tattooist whilst in Auckland.
Joseph died in Auckland on 23/2/63.

His grave site needs to be updated with his birth details.

Researching the BALL family of Poplar England. William BALL married Bessie Beatrice Rose BALL(nee HART) and had a son William Robert Samuel BALL and a daughter Bessie Elizabeth BALL.

Bessie and her son William later emigrated to New Zealand and re-married a Joseph HOOD. Her first husband William died around 1937.
