Harris

My grandfather William Alvin Harris b 1897 d 1993 lived his life in NJ was b in New Sharon. He does not have a birth cert. His mother was Anna and father William who later she married a Hedrick and he married Mary and had a son named Edgar in 1912. All I can find is in the 1930 census and in the last month lost my grandfather last 2 sons and makes me want to see if there are any more Harris's out there also to complete his family as it has always been a mystery. My mom said Edgar worked for a nursery that was off the highway close by where she grew up in Titusville and he married a retired school teacher Mary/Marion, I was wondering is anyone might have any clues. Thanks.

Harris/Hebden/Hedrick

My Grandfather Alvin William Harris was b 8-9-1897 and d 3-7-1993 m to Marion Ellis Ridgway. All that I know is his father was William Harris with Montgomery as a possible middle name. My grandfather was born in new Sharon, NJ on a farm he has no birth cert. All anyone in family know's is his mom's name was Anna Hebden Harris and that William remarried by 1912 to Mary and they had my grandfathers half brother Edgar who worked in a flower shop/greehouse place outside of Trenton by the highway. Some info say William could of been from Rhode Island or New York I know they traveled alot back then. My grandfather got closest to Martha Hebden Hedrick Anna's sister they both ended up in PA when they married into the Hedrick line. My grandfather was a carpenter and worked in PA alot as a young man but after marrying he settled in Titusvill and Trenton till he passed. It has been a mystery all these years and if anyone has any clues or ideas I would so appreciate. Thank you.

My Journey

I have been researching sense the mid 90's and have alot of info regarding Ridgway and Inglings via books and other researchers and my family. Also the same with Shinn. I think I am done with most of it and have current updates but some I am still struggleing with like my grandfather there is no birth certificate on him that can be found just a death. My goal is to find his real father and mother just have names at this point. And to connect Shinn/West that is such a mystery. My family this being my moms sides lives and lived in NJ my grandmother was a Ridgway. I also have done my dads side from PA and have got stuck on some older names like my dads grandma Desta Ennis and his grandfather Joseph Johnson I could only go back so far they moved around alot. His moms side is Gray and Carson. So been pretty busy trying to connect the dots and still have so pesky ones so always a work in progress. I have lots of info from certs and cem stones and things like that and if I can help someone would be open to it. Thanks for reading.

Hi I recently found out the missing link to my gggg-grandparents all I use to have were names and cem pics that I was not sure of. I now know abt Samuel Shinn what I am hoping to find out who Catherine West belongs to while I try to get a certificate on her. She was born abt 1814 and d abt 1899 and m abt 1838 and buried in Columbus cem in NJ. They have a stone next to them as one of their daugthers Rachel died in infancy. Their children were Mary Ann Shinn m Charles Conover, Francis Shinn m Hannah Eldridge, Eliza Jane Shinn m Amos Content Ingling (my ggg grandparents, Margaret Shinn m Leander Budd Bozarth and Sarah Shinn m John Erhart. If any one can help me I would so appreciate it been searching for these two sense the mid 90's and was happy to know Samuel has a line to follow and now I am looking at Catherine. Thank you
