I am very active with the Anderson County Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society. Our research room just recently opened and I man it two days a week. Our website is listed on the state website: www.scgen.org I attempt to help beginners get started on their family trees by locating that elusive family member. Sometimes this is difficult because I am also fairly new at this.
I will be using this site in an effort to connect the families of which I am working.
Today, I am searching for the family of John Milford Jones who lived in Ellijay,Gilmer, GA. In 1900,at the age of 14, he was boarding with a farmer, Emanuel H and Kylie Brockman. He died in 1958 in SC. He would not discuss his family but he did name one of his sons Otho Jones which may be a clue.. In 1885 he was probably born in NC near Cherokee/Clay Counties. I would apprecitate any responses.
