dechdi on Family Tree Circles

My James McGrath/McGraw b. 1832 m. Catherine Merrick b. 1838 both b. Ireland. In The 1860 fed census, Litchfield, Ct. it shows James McGraw and Catherine Merrick, her brother Michael b. 1842 and a Bridget Merrick, (who is Bridget Merrick?) Also James and Catherine's first two children John Joseph b. 1856 and Michael b. 1858. This is correct according to my records, however, (why was she named Catherine Merrick and not Catherine McGraw?)

I have the death cert. for Catherine McGraw/McGrath and her mother is not Bridget Merrick. It is Mary Glasshine b, 1806 and John Merrick b.1799

My records show that the Merricks were related to the Carroll surname
