McDonald/McDonall/McDonell

William McDONALD was born in Ireland in 1811 (from census records).
He married in 1834, London township, Middlesex Co, Ontario, to Elizabeth JACKSON (born Ireland about 1816).
Their twelve children were born in London township.
By 1871 they are living in Plympton township, Lambton Co, Ontario and they both died there in the 1880s.

Questions: where did they originate in Ireland?
When did they come to Canada?
did they know each other in Ireland?
did Elizabeth have a sister Phoebe JACKSON who married Joseph DANN?

Their children:
1. John McDONALL, born 1835, unmarried
2. Andrew McDONALL, born 1836, married Sara FOSTER
3. William McDONALL, born 1838, married Jane McBRIDE, moved to Michigan
4. James McDONALL, born 1840, married Elizabeth COLE, moved to Michigan
5. Joseph McDONALL, born 1842, married Elizabeth SPARLING, moved to Michigan
6. Stephen MCDONALL, born 1844, unmarried, moved to Michigan
7. David McDONALL, born 1846, married Ann Jane BRAY, moved to Michigan, then to N. Dakota, then to Alberta
8. Phoebe McDONALL, born 1848, married Dugald McGREGOR, moved to Alberta
9. Elizabeth McDONALL, born 1850, died 1853
10. Catherine McDONALL, born 1852, married James BELL
11. Henry McDONALL, born 1854, died 1875
12. Jackson McDONALL, born 1856, married Margaret Jane BREMNER, moved to N. Dakota, then to Alberta

The last child is my great grandfather. I have a lot of information on each of the children, in large part due to excellent records in Michigan.
(Have also many old photographs, mostly unidentified!)

My grandfather told me the following story about his uncle David:
On the homestead in Alberta one day, someone fired a gun and the bullet went through the grain roller, through the barn and grazed the chest of a horse. David passed his hands over the wound and healed it. This was because he was the seventh son of the seventh son and therefore had special powers.

I would be interested to learn more about "Seventh Son" legend from Ireland.
And does this mean that William McDONALL had six brothers?

Are you connected to this family?
Can you help me answer these questions?
Will gladly share what I know.
