GRANT LINK TO DOBBIN

I was born to JOYCE LAURA GRANT on 11th May 1940. Prior to her possible marriage to ?Peter GRANT she was known as Joyce Laura DOBBIN, her father being HARRY DOBBIN married to Emily W. BIRCHENOUGH.
She Registered me as JOHN ALEXANDER - in June the same year.

I have not been able to so far discover a MARRIAGE Certifcate.
However, it seem she was living in Hong Kong between 1934 / 39? and so also was Peter Grant (a Government Officerf) 1921/39
In April 1939 a daughter - Joyce Patricia Grant - was born to them.
Then in the following year I was born.
Grant then divorced his wife Joyce Laura

In 1941 I was put up for adoption and subsequently adopted by William Charles, and Edith Doris GREEN, then living in Starbeck, near Harrogate, yorkshire, England.

Joyce Laura Grant re married in 1945 one Frederic Sydney SALTER

JOYCE LAURA GRANT nee Dobbin, my Birth mother, was a daughter of HARRY DOBBIN who was married to Elsie W. BIRCHENOUGH.
Mrs.Grant had me adopted to WILLIAM CHARLES GREEN married to Edith Doris AMES.
Edith Doris' father was HARRY AMES married to Emily Elizabeth (LEWIN).

I am interested to know if there may be any connection between the families of DOBBIN and LEWIN in particular.

Looking for Family Roots

25TH May '09 - I am trying to discover my origins.
I was originally registered as John Alexander - by my mother then called JOYCE LAURA GRANT (previously DOBBIN b.1912) in June 1940.

Joyce Laura may also have had a brother - HARRY RALPH DOBBIN.
I was born in WEST DULWICH, South London on 11th May 1940.
My birth Mother's mothers name was ELSIE 'WRITE'? BIRCHENOUGH and her father was one HARRY DOBBIN
I have not managed to discover any Marriage Certificate for Joyce Laura Grant, although it seems likely she was married to one Peter GRANT, who may have worked in Hong Kong circa 1921/39 as an Inspector of Police. Peter Grant returned to England in 1939 or before
BUT NOT BEFORE meeting Joyce Laura Dobbin who also had journied to Hong Kong in 1934. The appears to have been married in Hong Kong and Joyce gave birth to Joyce PATRICIA Grant in April 1939 in the UK.
II was then born the following year in May 1940
By this time it looks as if Peter Grant had divorced Joyce Laura Grant.
She remarried in 1945 one Frederic Sydney Salter aged 58
I would be most interested to discover -
1. If there any descendants of HARRY RALPH DOBBIN.
2. If any thing can be discovered about JOYCE PATRICA GRANT
3. If any details of Marriage, Death can be ascertained for Joyce Laura Grant, or her husband (her husbands name could have also been John Alexander Grant rather than Peter - since I was supposed to have been named after him.
