hi my name is james allan iam currently doing research on my family the allans have got as far as my 4 times grandfather william allan who was married to agnes allan-burns thay married on the 20-01-1805 thay lived in dalziel scotland census 1841 william was 58-agnes 55-years william trade being handloom weaver children living with them at that time were charles 20years elizabeth 15years agnes 15years mary 13years william 10years thay also had a son james born 1806-1807ish he married mary allan-sinclair on the 06-01-1828 dalziel scotland dont know much about mary sinclair know she was born in kilmorack inverness around 1808ish her father was donald mother was agnes sinclair-mglachlan mary died 1864 blantyre lanark scotland james allan died 1890 at home farm colliery row hamilton james and mary had a son george at that time living at 30 burnbank terrace hamilton my problem is although i have lots of information about the allans at this time i have hit a brickwall reguarding william and agnes allan have no definate birth or death dates or there mothers or fathers names any help would be great also any information mary allan sinclair books to look at online for hamilton motherwell area are browns hamilton directory for 1855-1856 or naismiths hamilton directory for 1878-79 hope this can help someone
