My great Grandfather, John Gardner WEEDEN was born in South Berwick , Maine in 1829. He married Martha Ann Lee in 1854 in Danvers, Massachusetts. John was the son of Edward WEEDEN and Anna Garzia. Edward was born in East Greenwich, Rhode Island in 1794 to Edward WEEDEN and Naomi Sweet. He married Anna in 1815.

I have been researching this line as well as all lines from James WEEDEN, who came to America on board the "MARTIN" in 1638, from England and have many names.

I am also researching my fathers line, TOWN, but that one is much harder. My father's grandfather was Joseph TOWN from England. He came to America at the age of 17. He was born in Endenboro, Scotland in 1865. He married in 1891, Effie Flye of Porter, Maine. Effie died 1911 after giving birth to her 9th child. Joseph was so depressed that he left all the children with their Grandparents and went back to England. The last anyone heard from Joseph was in 1945/47. What makes it harder to trace Joseph's line is because he was adopted by a man and wife by the name of TOWN, I was told that his name was Mac.... when he was born.
