The native city from where I derived is New Orleans, Louisiana, and I am a very proud New Orleanian. Even though I had to migrate to another state because of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans will always be my blood and soil.

I have been painstakingly researching my creole ancestral background, but I have had a very huge deterrence because my creole ancestors had kept an immense amount of secrets.
It has been a very arduous task, but I will not concede because it is very essential and imperative to know from where you came. They had changed their namesakes, therefore, it has become the hardest feat of all to profoundly research my creole genealogical background.

I can go as far as to my great-great-great-great grandmother Deliette "Eliste" Francois Jefferson, her sister, who is my great-great-great-great aunt, Carmelite "Francois" Manuel. Manuel was a very recent discovery for which I hadn't known that she had gone by "Manuel" or that her grandmother's name was Harrish Manuel. Hypolite Francois, their brother and my great-great-great-great uncle for whom has been slightly talked about with very, very ambiguous details, I wish that were great specificities about him. The only thing I know is that he had a son name, of course, Hypolite Francois Jr.
