Khurrum Shahzad Noor was born on 22 July 1964 to Mrs Sitara Noor and Mr Nooruddin Ahmad at a small town called Nagina in Western Uttar Pradesh. He studied at Nagina,Bijnor,Lucknow and Wellington.
He has a younger brother Khusro Shiraz and sisters Sehba and Liza.
He belongs to the legendary Farshori clan of Budaun who came to India from Egypt some 800 years ago .
Captain Noor, as he is popularly known , serves in the Indian Navy and is a double Post Graduate in Physics and Defence and Strategic Studies. He is married to his classmate Arti Noor and is blessed with a daughter named Savvy Aks Noor.

His hobbies include Resaerch on Family Histories, Composing Poems. Social Work for orphans and street children. “Nostalgia” is compilation of his English Poems.

He stays in New Delhi and is presently working on his autobiographical novel- “ Thirty two Kilometers” and Research paper on Roots of the Farshori Clan of Budaun.
