The search for my ancestors has been a very interesting quest. I am fortunate to have some info, that has in itself, been rewarding. I have found thru this research, my cousins amd other family members
Though I don't know any of them personnelly, I happy to know that they exist. Growing up in Massachusetts, I really didn't know any other Mathiesons. For as long as I can remember, I thought that other than my Dads brother James and his family, were the only ones that I ever met. As for my research, I can remember asking my Grandmother, about her family, but she was always secretive. I would drive everyone crazy with my questions. I had a deep desire to learn about my family, and about who we were. The only thing my Dad every told me was " Be proud of being a Mathieson and being Scottish. For we are a very distingushed family, our history goes way back in the annals of scottish history.'' in the beginning of my research, I could never find any of anwsers I was looking for. there were times, I wanted to throw in the towel, and give up. But the desire to find that missing piece of the puzzle was what keep me driving on Till I found that miising piece. As I learned over the years, Genealogy can be very addicting. What I'm trying to say is this. Have fun, never give up.
